Alloyed steel for case hardening is supplied cold drawn or annealed + drawn. The minimum order lot is 6 or 10 tonnes depending on steel grade and condition. Examples of steel grades are listed in the table below:

Boxholm Stål AB produces cold drawn stainless tubes of grade AISI 304L. The base material is a hot-rolled billet of grade AISI 304L with the following strength values:

Rp0.2	C.a 250 MPa
Rm	C:a 560 MPa
A5	C:a 50 %
HB	C:a 145

After the cold-drawing following values are reached:

 

Rp0.2	C.a 550 MPa
Rm	C:a 710 MPa
A5	C:a 35 %
HB	C:a 230

 

You also get improved straightness and surface by cold-drawing.
